Who we are

We are the organization working towards upliftment of socially and economically backward community to main stream line of the society. Especially we are working for marginal farmers, scheduled tribes, women, unemployed youths and Children in need of care and protection. Currently the organization is working on various developmental projects like: Self Help Groups, Activity Based Groups, Joint Liability Groups, Farmers Club, Manjusha art Developmental project, CHILDLINE 1098 : an 24 hours emergency phone outreach service for the needy children and various vocational trainings etc in mainly two districts Bhagalpur and Banka in Bihar.


The organization was founded on 2nd October 1985 as a youth club in Baijani village nearby 7 kms away from the district headquarter of Bhagalpur. A group of 20 youths started to help their community in different social aspects like to help in girl’s marriage, in cleaning of community’s environment, plantation, to aware people of their rights, to organize different sports and cultural programmes etc. Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan supported the group in promotional activities and given them a legal identity.

Legal Identity :

After gaining a lot of experiences as a youth group it shaped into a Voluntary organization and became registered under the Society registration Act, 1986 of Bihar Govt in 2000-01. Then got its FCRA (Foreign Contribution and Regulation Act), 1976 certification in 2004-05, 12 A and 80G certification of Income Tax department in the financial year 2012-13.

Our Mission :

Integrated Rural Development through strengthening the weaker section, women, child, scheduled tribes, distressed and the neglected Communities of the society.

Our Vision :

Promotion of Local-Self-Governance with the civic engagements through Gandhian Ideology and Social Humanity.

Objective :

The overall objective of the organization is the upliftment of Social, moral, economic, educational, cultural and integrative status of the society based on equality, liberty, social Justice and democratic way of life.

Mile Stone approaches :

During these passing years organization has been got its wide publicity throughout its promotional and innovative approaches in the community.  Some of them become the mile stone initiatives for the organization.

Revival of a folk art called “Manjusha Art” is one of them. Organization started to aware rural women in all the 16 blocks of Bhagalpur district towards revival of this folk art using its motif in their livelihood. Organization received financial assistance for this cause in 2008-09 and 2010-11 from NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development). Throughout this innovative approach the Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Sri Nitish Kumar visited an exhibition of Manjusha handicrafts developed by the trained rural artisan and appreciated the organization’s efforts.

State Level GraminUddyamiMela is another mile stone initiative of the organization. Every year the organization is organizing this State level GraminUddayiMela in Bhagalpur district. With an objective to link rural products developed by the ground level community organizations and different groups with the present market. More than 100 artisans of 50 organizations/groups participated every year in this mela. Half of them belongs to the same district and rest has been participating from other districts of Bihar and other states. In the Year 2014 we organised 7th State level GraminUddyamiMela with the financial assistance of NABARD.

Recognition :

Throughout our promotional activities several times we get awarded from different Govt. and Non. Govt. Organizations. In the Year of 2010-11, we get recognition of Grade “A” certification from the Ministry of Youth and Affairs through NYKS, Bhagalpur. In 1012-13, we awarded as a best voluntary organization in the district by the Bihar Agriculture University and Eastern Bihar Industries Association, Bhagalpur.
